Best Primary Schools 2022 (by popularity)

7

In this post, we present our updated and most popular ranking of primary schools in Singapore.

All 181 primary schools are ranked by their “subscription rates” in Phase 2A and Phase 2B. If a school has a subscription rate of 2, it means that the number of applicants to the school is 2x that of places available. A number above 1 means that the school is oversubscribed.

Doing homework in primary school could be tough. Of course, there are a lot of homework subjects like, for example, law homework help that even students need to be puzzled by. But including creativity from professional writers will work effectively for your children.

In previous years, there were phases 2A1 and 2A2. But starting this year, MOE has decided to combine the two phases into a single Phase 2A.

That said, Phase 2B has just concluded. This phase was open to parents who are (1) school volunteers having served more than 1 year with at least 40 hours clocked, (2) endorsed church members or clan members directly connected to the school, or (3) endorsed active community leaders (e.g. RC chairman, etc).

This year, 33 schools were oversubscribed in phase 2B, but only 30 will hold a ballot. The other 3 — Fairfield Methodist School (Primary), Northland Primary School and Xinmin Primary School — will not do the balloting. The reason given was:

This school only has places for Singapore Citizen children residing within 2km of the school. No balloting will be conducted.

For Northland Primary School, it was 1km.

Even after you invested time and effort volunteering at these 28 schools, your child is still not guaranteed a place!

In the ranking list below, the first number is the vacancy for Phase 2B. The second number is the number of applicants. In brackets is the average subscription rate over the 2 phases. The schools in bold are the ones which were oversubscribed in Phase 2B. See also last year’s rankings.

Finally, scroll to the bottom of this article to see the list of affiliations. Some primary schools have affiliations with associated secondary schools. Pupils from such primary schools enjoy a certain advantage in the secondary school posting exercise after PSLE. To get an idea, see the cut-off points in the second half of our Secondary School Ranking article.
