As a contribution to the sustainable development, XM has partnered with the Singapore Red Cross to help vulnerable elderly who are living alone in Tampines. Together, XM and the organisation provided essentials packs and lending hands to make their life better & brighter.
There are more than 88, 000 elderly people living alone in Singapore with no proper guardians to help them throughout their daily needs. These people face difficulties in carrying out their daily routines, as they are not capable enough to carry heavy groceries and running errands. On top of that, they struggle in maintaining their health, physically and mentally.
XM contributed to the Red Cross ElderAid program as one of the alternatives to help them lessen their burdens. As a support to the elderlies, XM has provided the essentials including packets of medical goods (first aid kits) and other necessities for their use.
The ElderAid initiative seeks to minimize senior citizens’ vulnerability and fight loneliness. It is a delightful outcome that this campaign became a success with the presence of the supportive volunteers. What the elderlies needed the most was to have someone spending time together and giving them assistance, especially that they are living alone. XM believes that the time spent together lowers the risk of loneliness-related illnesses and mental health issues.
XM also affirms that no one should suffer, so through this CSR program, the company is determined to continue supporting projects and organizations to maintain the good health and well-being of the community, as well as other humanitarian problems around the world.
