Civil Servant Bonus 2021 Year End

1

All civil servants will be getting one month bonus together with the usual 13th month bonus this year end, according to this PSD press release. With one month of AVC bonus, plus one month of NPAA bonus, this is a total of 2 months of bonus this year end.

.. civil servants in grades equivalent to MX15 and MX16, as well as those in OSS Grades III to V will receive an additional one-time lump-sum payment of $500.

The “13th month” Non-Pensionable Annual Allowance (NPAA), previously known as AWS, will be paid in December.

Junior civil servants in Grades III to V, and those in grades equivalent to MX15 and MX16, will receive a one-time lump sum payment of $500 in keeping with the recommendations of the National Wages Council (NWC) to uplift lower-wage workers.

If you include this year’s mid-year bonus of 0.3 month, all civil servants will be getting a total guaranteed bonus of 2.3 months for the entire 2021, excluding performance and other additional bonuses. (We understand that some civil servants can receive additionally up to 2-3 months of performance bonus, typically awarded in March. This means some civil servants may get up to 5.3 months of bonuses in total. Check out this Salary.sg Forums discussion thread.)

This year’s total bonus (excluding performance bonus) is 1.3 months more than last year’s AVC + NPAA, which in turn was 0.55 month less than 2019’s total bonus of 1.55 months.
