Among the 263 SGX-listed companies analysed by Hay Group, the highest total remuneration received by a CEO is S$11.7 million.
The ranking of median income for CEOs in various industry sectors is as follows:
- Finance – $2.9 million
- Properties – $2.3 million
- Hotels/Restaurants – $1.6 million
- Construction – $1.4 million
- Multi-Industry – $1.1 million
- Commerce – $940k
- Transport/Storage/Communications – $800k
- Manufacturing – $780k
- Others – $625k
Also, according to the Hay Group report, deputy CEOs and COOs are the second-highest paid with a median total remuneration of S$481k, followed by CEOs of subsidiary companies and divisional/regional operation heads (both at a median of S$375k).
Comparing among key functional executives across all industry sectors, we have the following ranking of median total remuneration:
- Executive Chairman/CEO – $875k
- Deputy CEO/COO – $481k
- CEO of subsidiary company – $375k
- Divisional/Regional operation head – $375k
- Top Technology/Design/Product Development executive – $338k
- Top Finance executive – $324k
- Top Human Resource/Administration/Corporate Service executive – $324k
- Top Marketing/Sales/Business Development executive – $324k
- Others – $250k
On the other hand, if we compare the industry sectors, the ranking for median total remuneration of key executives is:
