Civil Service Bonus mid-2010

May 27th, 2010

Civil servants are set to receive a bonus of half a month and a cash quantum of $300 in July.

This is considered good news, compared to just 6 months ago when public servants received a pittance as year end bonus. The Public Service Division explained that the Singapore economy, which grew by 15.5% in Q1, has been “stronger than expected“.

The 0.5 month bonus will be given as the mid-year Annual Variable Component (AVC), while the $300 quantum is a one-off payment to all officers.

National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) welcomed the news and its deputy secretary-general Mdm Halimah Yacob said that civil servants “suffered a reduction” in their total annual take-home pay last year. All public servants did not get a mid-year bonus last year.

How much bonus are you getting this mid-year?

Will I be getting a pro-rated year-end bonus is I had left the service (MOE) in June this year?

  5. Gerald Says:

IF you have left MOE and went to Private sector.. I think you will get ZERO from Govt.. Maybe pro-rated from your private company.

IF you have left MOE by resign and move to another Ministry, you will get pro-rated from July until Dec.
